A large, custom-designed segmented sprocket (chain wheel) used in mining and heavy industry. The 4-segment design breaks the large sprocket into four boltable pieces for easier handling, installation and maintenance while delivering the same transmission function as a one-piece sprocket.
"4 segment" means the sprocket is manufactured as four separate, matched segments that bolt together. Advantages: easier transport and installation, simplified on-site replacement of worn segments, reduced downtime, and the ability to produce very large diameters that would be difficult to cast or machine as a single piece.
Materials offered include carbon steels (35#, 45#, 50#) and alloy steels such as 40Cr, 35CrMo, 42CrMo, 40CrNiMo and 35SiMn. Material selection is based on application, load and wear requirements.
Standard pitch range is 16–114 mm and roller diameters from 10–72 mm. Tooth types and series available include 1, 1.25, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16, 20, 25, 32, 40 and 50. Custom sizes are made to customer drawings.
Manufacturing processes include forging or casting blanks, followed by hobbing, milling or shaping to form teeth. Final finishing can include polishing, grinding and surface treatments per the customer's specification.
Heat treatment options: hardening & tempering, surface quenching, integral quenching, carburizing & quenching, tempering, normalizing and nitriding. Surface treatments: polishing, grinding, painting, and application of anti-rust oil.
Standards: DIN, GB, GOST, AISI, ISO, JIS as requested. Certifications include ISO9001 and export documentation such as Form E, Form A or Certificate of Origin where applicable.
Provided reports can include material certificates, hardness reports, UT/MT (nondestructive testing) reports, RT/PT where required, dimensional inspection reports and mechanical property test reports. Video of outgoing inspection and machinery test reports can also be provided.
Yes. Sprockets are manufactured to customer drawings. Submit detailed drawings (DWG, DXF, PDF) and specifications (material, pitch, bore, keyway, mounting details, heat treatment). The supplier will confirm feasibility, tooling and provide a quotation.
Typical applications: mining, gearboxes/transmission systems, heavy machinery, chemical plants, textile machinery, escalators, wood processing, agricultural machinery and construction machinery.
A representative weight listed is 200 kg, but actual weight depends on diameter, thickness and material. Exact weight will be provided in the technical quote or drawing-based BOM.
A standard warranty of 1.5 years is offered. After-sales support includes inspection reports, test documentation, assistance with installation queries and guidance for replacement of wear segments. Specific warranty terms should be confirmed in the sales contract.
Lead time varies with size, complexity, quantity and current production schedule. For an accurate lead time and delivery plan, provide drawings and order details so the supplier can quote a timeline.
Segments are machined to match mating faces and bolt together around the hub or shaft. Installation requires proper alignment, torqueing of segment bolts to spec, checking fit with the chain, and ensuring shaft/hub mounting is secure. Follow supplier assembly drawings and torque values.
Regularly inspect for wear and tooth profile deformation, maintain proper chain tension and lubrication, ensure alignment, replace worn segments (instead of entire sprocket) when necessary, and follow scheduled hardness and dimensional checks as recommended by the supplier.
